3 – When is the Sabbath? Exodus 20:8-11
The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday. There are over 104 languages in the world whose name for the seventh day is “Sabbath”.
Note: A biblical day runs from sunset to sunset, not midnight to midnight (Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23). Therefore Sabbath is Friday evening till Saturday evening.

There is an abundance of evidence in the New Testament that the followers of Jesus kept the seventh-day Sabbath after Jesus’ death (Luke 23:56). Just like Jesus, the apostle Paul’s custom was to worship on the Sabbath day, even when there was no synagogue around (Acts 16:13, also Acts 17:2 & 18:4). Jesus clearly expected His followers to keep the Sabbath long after His death (Matt 24:20).
